A Bottle in the Gaza Sea is a 2005 young adult novel by French author and translator Valérie Zenatti, first published in French as Une bouteille dans la mer de Gaza. Jean-Philippe Écoffey Brought up in a family committed to Israeli-Palestinian peace, 17-year-old Tal writes a note, puts it in a bottle, and asks her brother, who is serving in the Israeli army, to throw the bottle into the sea in Gaza. Sure, it has something to say, but it hardly feels like its out to change the world -- only a very small part of it.
Although smoothly directed, A Bottle in the Gaza Sea has little visual personality or dramatic urgency. The majority of cinematic subject fare on this topic being documentary: Think 5 Broken Cameras, Where do Birds Fly?, Tears of Gaza?
