There's not an awful lot to this novel (plot wise) but I'm awfully compelled to it. Winton used the different perspectives of his characters to build on the tension rather than dismantle it, adding to the Gothic feel.Though a novella, it was jam-packed with imaginative description and fast-paced scenes.
