The girlfriend character is pretty unsympathetic in a lot of ways and the main character is no better just spending most of the film wallowing around in his own depression.And a lot of times that honestly wouldn't be a big deal for me. And the whole third act of the film is teaming up and hunting the monster instead of the last five minutes show up we got.But the resolution to the monster is very weak compared to the buildup they gave at the beginning.Yeah I think if they had kept the movie as is and had the monster sequence at the end last a good 20 minutes with a few kills (like killing the brother or the friend) then it would have worked. Also I’m so happy with the ending, I was afraid the monster would break in and kill everyone or Abby or something but Val coming in clutch was perfect. ... Actually if you haven't seen this film just fucking skip it. That was a fantastic movie! The whole time it is just door rattling or the worst offender was them just going to a completely black shot only to illuminate it once with gunfire. It is such a shame that this film chooses not to do more with the horror because the fact is that they have an I can't even say relationship drama for the most part because that actually doesn't come in until the end, and when that is done it is actually done fairly effectively. The writers held back the monster until the climax, when the hero is in the middle of his speech.
I found the core of the story to be somewhat interesting, but I found most of the characters to be very unlikable (except Henry Zebrowski). The last 20 minutes are great but I felt like it wasn't worth all the pointless filler preceding it. It's not yet on unconsenting media :)No sexual violence at all and 2 sexual scenes in the movie, one where a guy goes down on a woman but the camera stays on the woman’s face and the scene is pretty short and the other where they embrace in a closer to have sex. He needs our help to convince the CBS folks to approve his videos for YouTube. I thought it was a cool idea for a movie, but the end result feels really unbalanced.
