Overwhelmed with constant concert performances and piano-side jingles that grow tiresome, Three Daring Daughters wears out its case of communication breakdowns quickly and beats a dead horse far past the point of caring.I've never seen this movie before, but I thought it was super cute! Then THREE DARING DAUGHTERS becomes an unfunny family sitcom for a while; all the pleasant, interesting characters from the first half of the film become pat, obnoxious avatars of un-self-aware privilege, with the exception of great pianist/conductor José Iturbi, who subtly conveys the unnatural pain of a good man benevolently becoming The Other Man ostensibly trying to replace the titular daughters' real father. When the girls get home they discuss their mother, and believe if they bring their father back home it will make their mom happy and healthy again.
