Detroit is not an innocent victim. I would hate to see it implode. Detropia shows the heart and soul of Detroit and how its remaining citizens cope with urban decay as a result of the loss of its industrial plants. But hope lingers that someday Detroit will once again become the great American city it once was. I lived around Detroit and I have heard and experienced almost all of what is shown and discussed in this film. This documentary was okay prior to Detroit's bankruptcy....but now that the city is making a comeback, it is no longer as relevant. i love it's gritty, first person accounting of an empire in decline from the perspective of people living at ground zero. Obviously it is about the decay of Detroit.

This film is educational, thoughtful, and warm I urge families, students and genders of all ages to watch this film.
